The solo bottleneck

New subscribers get nothing until your next weekly send — then forget you.

This guide is part of a free series: 50 useful automations for people running the business alone. Download the printable PDF anytime: Free PDF — Welcome new subscribers with a drip, not a blank stare.

Stack that stays small

ESP with automations (Beehiiv/ConvertKit/Mailchimp).

Tools named here: Beehiiv, ConvertKit, Zapier. Prefer official docs and native features before adding another SaaS.

Ship the automation

Write a 5-email welcome: who you are, best hit, method, case, soft offer.

Tag subscribers by lead magnet so later segments stay clean.

Pause drip if they buy — move them to customer sequence.

Review open rates monthly; rewrite the weakest subject line.

Keep it honest

Your best existing post is email #2. Do not invent filler.

Automations should reduce decisions and errors — not hide broken processes. If a Zap fails weekly, fix the process or delete the Zap.
