The solo bottleneck

Expired domains are silent business killers.

This guide is part of a free series: 50 useful automations for people running the business alone. Download the printable PDF anytime: Free PDF — Never miss a domain or SSL renewal again.

Stack that stays small

Auto-renew on + calendar reminders + card on file.

Tools named here: Namecheap, Google Calendar, Zapier. Prefer official docs and native features before adding another SaaS.

Ship the automation

Turn on auto-renew for every domain and keep a backup card.

Spreadsheet or Notion: domain, registrar, expiry.

Calendar event 30 days before each expiry.

Monitor SSL with your uptime tool or host alerts.

Keep it honest

Lock domains and enable 2FA on the registrar. Hijacks hurt more than expiry.

Automations should reduce decisions and errors — not hide broken processes. If a Zap fails weekly, fix the process or delete the Zap.
