The solo bottleneck

Spending gross revenue is how tax season becomes a crisis.

This guide is part of a free series: 50 useful automations for people running the business alone. Download the printable PDF anytime: Free PDF — Auto-set-aside tax money every time you get paid.

Stack that stays small

Separate tax account + transfer rule on payout.

Tools named here: Stripe, Wise, Bank rules. Prefer official docs and native features before adding another SaaS.

Ship the automation

Open a separate savings/tax account.

On each Stripe payout, move 25–35% (or your rate) to tax.

Automate with bank rules or a Zap + Wise.

Quarterly: pay estimates from that account only.

Keep it honest

Talk to an accountant for your rate. The automation is the habit enforcer.

Automations should reduce decisions and errors — not hide broken processes. If a Zap fails weekly, fix the process or delete the Zap.
