The solo bottleneck

Late contractor pay destroys trust faster than late client pay.

This guide is part of a free series: 50 useful automations for people running the business alone. Download the printable PDF anytime: Free PDF — Pay contractors on a rhythm, not a memory.

Stack that stays small

AP checklist + Wise batches + bookkeeping category.

Tools named here: Wise, PayPal, QuickBooks. Prefer official docs and native features before adding another SaaS.

Ship the automation

Standard invoice email + due date (e.g. Net 7).

Zap invoice PDF → Drive + QuickBooks bill.

Pay on one day per week in a single Wise batch.

Confirm payment with a short email template.

Keep it honest

Same payday every week. Reliability is your brand with freelancers too.

Automations should reduce decisions and errors — not hide broken processes. If a Zap fails weekly, fix the process or delete the Zap.
