Owner of the Internet (https://www.ruletheinternet.lol) explains what personal data we process when you visit the site, bid for the homepage, or contact us. This notice is written for visitors in the United States (including California), the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, and India.
This is a public description of our current practices, not legal advice. Fill in a registered company name and postal address when you have them, and keep this page aligned with what the product actually does.
The data controller (EU/UK), business (US), and Data Fiduciary (India) is the operator of Owner of the Internet at https://www.ruletheinternet.lol. Contact: hello@blackbirdcorporation.com.
We do not run user accounts. The public “owner” on the homepage is promotional placement, not a legal title to the internet or any third-party network.
Depending on how you use the site, we may process:
Visitor counts on the homepage are currently simulated for the experience. They are not a live measurement of you.
Our operators, hosts, and Stripe may process data in the United States, the EEA, the UK, India, and other countries. Where EU/UK GDPR applies, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses (or UK addenda) used by those providers. Where India’s DPDP Act applies, we transfer personal data only as that Act and any government restrictions allow.
Bid and owner records are kept while they are part of the public succession history and for a reasonable period afterward for disputes, tax, and fraud prevention. Payment records follow Stripe’s and our accounting retention. Cookie choices stay in your browser until you clear them or we raise the consent version. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and debugging.
We use HTTPS, access-controlled databases, and Stripe-hosted checkout so card and UPI secrets are not typed into our forms. No method is perfect. Do not send passwords or extra identity documents through the takeover form.
The service is for people 18 or older (the age of majority under India’s DPDP Act, and a conservative line for COPPA, UK, and EU child rules). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child submitted data, send the request through hello@blackbirdcorporation.com and we will delete it.
If you are in the EEA or UK, our lawful bases include:
You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests. You may lodge a complaint with your local authority (for example the ICO in the UK, or your EU member-state supervisory authority). We do not use solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
In the last 12 months we may collect the categories above: identifiers (name, IP), commercial information (bids and payments), internet activity (site use, cookie choice), and geolocation (country-level). Sources are you, your device, Stripe, and our hosts. Business purposes are those in section 3. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by CPRA to infer characteristics.
California and other US state laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and similar) may give you the right to know, access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy, opt out of sale or sharing for targeted advertising, and not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined for cross-context behavioral advertising. If you still want to record an opt-out, use Cookie settings and send the request through hello@blackbirdcorporation.com. We will verify reasonable requests. You may use an authorized agent as those statutes allow.
Nevada residents may request that we not sell covered information; we do not sell it. “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” is satisfied by this section because we do not sell or share in that sense. Global Privacy Control signals are treated as an opt-out of sale/share and marketing cookies.
If you are a Data Principal in India, we process digital personal data for the purposes in this notice, on the basis of your consent (including cookie choices and submitting a takeover) and for uses that the Act allows without additional consent where they are necessary to provide the service you requested, prevent fraud, or comply with law.
You may withdraw consent, request access to a summary of processing, request correction and erasure, and nominate another person to exercise rights in the event of death or incapacity, as the Act and rules provide. Withdrawal does not undo a payment already processed by Stripe, but we will stop optional processing.
Grievance Officer: send the request through hello@blackbirdcorporation.com. We aim to acknowledge privacy complaints promptly and to close them within the timelines required by applicable DPDP rules. You may also approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Use hello@blackbirdcorporation.com for access, deletion, correction, a copy, an opt-out, or a complaint. We may ask for limited extra information to verify you and to avoid deleting the wrong public owner record.
If we change this policy in a material way, we will update the date at the top and, where required, ask for cookie consent again by raising the stored consent version.
