A homepage throne, run in the open.

Owner of the Internet is a live homepage throne. One name sits on the page at a time. That owner’s real website is shown full-bleed until someone else claims the crown. The title is promotional. It is not a legal claim on the internet, any backbone, any domain registry, or anyone else’s property.

The product is scarcity and a screenshotable story: who owns the internet right now? Other projects sell a similar stunt as an auction. Here the throne is claimed by submitting a name and an HTTPS website. Checkout is paused. There is no bid while this court is open.

Blackbird Corporation operates https://www.ruletheinternet.lol. We run the site, the takeover flow, the public archive of owners, and the editorial pages. We are not an advertising network, a hosting company for the sites that take the throne, or a registrar. When you claim the crown you are asking us to display your public URL on our homepage. You remain responsible for your own site, brand, and compliance.

You submit a display name, a website, and an optional tagline. We fetch a public preview of that URL so visitors see your actual page, not a mock-up you uploaded. The current owner is replaced when a new claim is accepted. Duration is not guaranteed. Someone else can take the homepage the same way you did.

We can refuse or remove a placement. Destinations that are illegal, deceptive, malicious, pornographic involving minors, or otherwise unsafe are not allowed. User-controlled URLs are a real risk; the throne is not a right to host whatever you like on our domain.

View counts shown on the homepage come from stored takeover records. They do not tick up in your browser to look like a crowd. They are not a live unique-visitor meter and they are not sold as traffic proof to advertisers.

If we later show third-party ads, we will identify the operator, keep this About page accurate, publish ads.txt with a real publisher ID, and only load ad scripts after the cookie notice allows them. We do not currently inject Google AdSense.

Most of the web pretends attention is infinite. This site does the opposite: one chair. Founders, tool makers, and useful websites get a moment where the homepage is theirs. The archive remembers who sat, ranked by how long they held the crown in total, not by who would have paid most in an auction.
